We will not be gathering as one large church body until Labor Day. Click HERE for how we are responding to COVID-19 and our future plans.

house churches

The Bridge Montrose exists as a network of House Churches spread throughout the city of Houston. A House Church exists because there are those that have committed and share in the responsibility of each other’s well-being, growing in Christ, and pursuing Gospel Mission. House Churches share life and come together for weekly House Church Worship Gathers.
House Church Worship Gatherings happen in houses (and over Zoom) follows the model laid our by Scripture in the book of Acts (specifically Acts 2:42). Each House Church is unique to the area and gifting of each individual House Church member but all include elements of musical worship, teaching and discussion, prayer, fellowship, and communion. Kids are a welcomed part of each House Church.
The Bridge has a staff and group of overseeing elders (find out more about them HERE) that resource and support each House Church.
On the second Sunday of the month we gather together for an All House Church Worship Gathering. These gathers are a time for us all to come together for worship, to share stories, and celebrate what the Lord has been doing in our communities.
The next All House Church Worship Gathering in July 12th at 10am. This gathering will be over Zoom with live music, teaching, stories, and communion (please have your elements prepared). Zoom link HERE.

Most House Churches watch the sermon (posted Thursdays) before they meet Sunday morning for discussion.

Churchwide Update- 6.25.20

God is at work in a unique way in this present season that we have been brought into due to the pandemic. While this season is full of many challenges, we have also recognized the beauty and reality of what the church really is as we have had so much stripped away. As I’m sure you have heard, we have seen that the church is not a building or a program. Even more, it is not just when all of us come together but when any of us come together in the name of Jesus that we are the church.

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” - Matthew 18:20.

We saw our Transformation Groups immediately and naturally  transition into House Churches and, out of this, have felt the Lord leading us to pursue how these smaller home-based communities can lead us into deeper fellowship with each other as well as greater reach for the Gospel into our city and world.
Because of this, we will take the month of July to focus our house church teaching and discussions on God’s desire and design for the church. Throughout the month, we Invite you to join in a prayerful pursuit of God’s leading for The Bridge Community as well as His leading of you personally. Those four weeks will focus on:

  • The Person of Jesus - Formed by Christ
  • The Purpose of Jesus - Released for Mission
  • The People of Jesus - Who is the Church?
  • The Fruit of Jesus - Form Follows Function

In order to help all of us pursue this together, we have created these daily devotionals to root our convictions and desires in His Word and to be shaped and compelled by the power of the Holy Spirit through prayer for His glory and our good.
We love sharing this journey of transformation together toward Jesus for the glory of God with you.

Please feel free to reach out to an elder at anytime.

in Christ,

the elders
