We Want to Plant More Churches

The Bridge started in September of 2014 as a church plant with the vision to plant more churches. We are often asked, “Why do you need to plant another church? Aren’t there enough churches already?” There are a multitude of reasons why, but let us just say this: planting churches has been proven to be the most effective way of reaching people and communities far from God with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What we know is that churches will naturally rise out of making disciples of Jesus, which we define as reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus unto salvation and walking alongside those people toward spiritual maturity. We want to plant churches in areas where there is either an absence of the Gospel or where people of the Gospel do not have a local church.

Current Church Planting Resident

Blaine Hooper joined The Bridge HTX as our Church Planting Resident in the summer of 2020. Blaine felt the call to plant a church in 2018 and after a time of prayer and discernment, pursued planting Christ our Refuge Church in the Sharpestown area of Houston. Blaine has served in the military, trained pastors in Africa, and was a discipleship pastor at GBC Houston. Those experiences lead him and his wife Anna, to want to bring the Gospel to the nations, through serving refuges in Houston through evangelism, care, discipleship, and planting a local church in the area. Blaine is also a part of the HCPN Church Planting Finishing Residency. Contact him HERE

Our Partnerships and Networks

We are part of the EFCA which has a rich history of planting churches.
• The EFCA is a denomination that operates more like a network. Our district has support systems and coaching in place to help church planters be highly effective. We operate as a band of brothers and sisters as we work together in the disciplemaking church planting mission with Jesus.
• You can find out more about the EFCA and our district by clicking HERE.

We partner with  the Houston Church Planting Network (HCPN).
• The HCPN operates as a networks of networks working to prepare planting pastors and planting churches by pursuing Saturation, Collaboration, Formation, and Multiplication.
